Clauses of Result   عبارات النتيجة

We use Clauses of Result to express the result of an action or a conclusion.

 نستخدم عبارات النتيجة للتعبير عن نتيجة حدث أو خاتمة.

الصيغة:

• so + adjective/adverb + that

الأمثلة:

That Maths problem was so difficult that I couldn't solve it.

They shouted so loudly that everybody heard them.

الصيغة:

• so + much/many/little/few + noun + that

مثال:

I've read this poem so many times that I know it by heart now.

الصيغة:

• such + a/an + (adjective) + singular countable noun + that

مثال:

It was such a beautiful day that we decided to go for a picnic.

الصيغة:

• such + (adjective) + uncountable / plural countable noun + that

مثال:

He was wearing such strange clothes that everyone was looking at him.

• such + a lot of + noun + that

مثال:

I've put on such a lot of weight that I don't fit into my clothes any more.

الصيغة:

• too + adjective or adverb (+ for somebody) + full infinitive

مثال:

This dress is too expensive for me to buy.

• (not) adjective or adverb + enough (+ for somebody) + full infinitive

مثال:

This dress isn't big enough for me to wear.

Note :  ملاحظة

الصيغة:

• That can be omitted, especially in spoken English.

يُمكن حذف that خصوصا في الإنجليزية المُتحدثة. يعني في الكلام ممكن نحذفها. 

Clauses of Concession  عبارات الإقرار

We use Clauses of Concession to express contrast or opposition to the main clause.

 نستخدم عبارات الإمتياز للتعبير عن المقارنة مع أو عكس العبارة الرئيسية.

• although / even though/ though + subject + verb

مثال: (انتبه الشرطة المائلة يعني بإمكان استخدام أحد العبارات)

Although/Even though/ Though he was starving , he didn’t take any of the food they offered him.

• in spite of / despite + noun / -ing form / what...

الأمثلة:

Despite the heavy rain , it was very hot.
In spite of feeling afraid , Jim went on the roller coaster.
Despite what you may think , that’s not the case.

الصيغة:

• in spite of / despite + the fact + that-clause

مثال:

He went jogging in spite of/despite the fact that he had a terrible headache.

Note :  ملاحظة

• Though is used in spoken English and it can be placed at the beginning or at the end of the
sentence.

نستخدم Though في اللغة المُتحدثة ويُمكن أن تأتي في بداية أو نهاية الجملة.
