الحلال بين والحرام بين

The Lawful and the illicit matters are plain

بن بشير	the son Bashir,
إن الحلال	That which is lawful
بين	is plain
وإن الحـرام	and that which is unlawful
وبينهما	and between the two of them
أمور مشتبهات	are doubtful matters
لا يعلمهن كثير من الناس	about which not many people know
فمن	thus he who
اتقى	avoids
الشبهات	doubtful matters
فـقـد استبرأ	clears himself
لـ دينه	in regard to his religion
و عرضه	and his honor
ومن وقع في الشبهات	and he who fall into doubtful matters
وقع في الحرام	falls into that which is unlawful,
كـالراعي	the shepherd
يـرعى حول	who pastures around
الحمى	a sanctuary
يوشك أن	all but
يرتع فيه	grazing therein
ألا وإن لكل ملك	truly every king has
حمى	a sanctuary
ألا وإن حمى الله	and truly Allah's sanctuary is
محارمه	His prohibitions.
ألا	Truly
وإن في الجـسد	in the body there is
مُضغة	a morsel of flesh
إذا صلحـت	which if it be whole,
صلح الجسد كله	all the body is whole
وإذا فـسـدت	and which, if it be deceased,
فـسـد الجسـد كـله	all of it is deceased.
ألا وهي	truly
الـقـلب	it is the heart.
