Both / both of
Use both or both of to join two subjects. Both takes a plural verb.
استخدم both أو both of لربط فاعلين معاً. both تأخذ الفعل في صيغة الجمع.
نقصد بالفعل في صيغة الجمع أي مثل are وليس is وهكذا.
Both my parents / Both of my parents are doctors.
You need to use both of before us / you / them.
نتستخدم both of قبل الضمائر us, you,them
Both of us are from Riyadh.
But you need to use both after us / you / them.
نستخدم both بعد الضمائر us, you, them
He takes care of them both.
Either of / Neither of
Use either of / neither of for two things. Either of and neither of take a singular verb.
استخدم either of و neither of لـ شييئين.
كل من either of و neither of تأخذ الفعل في صيغة المُفرد.
نقصد بالفعل في صيغة المُفرد أي مثل is وليس are ..
Either of the medical candidates is a good choice.
Neither of them is a good choice.
Note: مُلاحظة
Both / neither / either + of is always followed by the / these / our / us, etc.
Both / neither / either + of is always followed by the / these / our / us, etc.
كل من neither و either of دائماً يأتي بعدها the - these - our - us ...الخ.
None
Use none when there are more than two subjects.
None takes a singular verb.
استخدم none عندما يكون هُناك أكثر من فاعلين اثنين.
none تأخذ الفعل في صيغة المُفرد.
None of my family wants me to go into the biosphere.
None of them lives in Dammam.
Neither … nor
Use neither … nor to join two subjects when the verb is negative. Neither … nor takes a singular verb.
استخدم neither...nor لـ ربط فاعلين اثنين عندما يكون الفعل (منفي).
neither...nor تأخذ الفعل في صيغة المُفرد.
Neither my mother nor my father knows I am in the Biosphere.
Either … or
Either … or joins two subjects when the verb is positive.
تُستخدم Either … or لربط فاعلين اثنين عندما يكون الفعل مُثبت. (يعني الفعل ليس منفي)
Either Fahad or Andrew is the best candidate.
